The Halograph Tourbillon is the ultimate Xeric watch. The dial features our innovative signature split display and halo hands which float over the arcs to encircle the time. The inner arcs display the hours and the outer arcs display the minutes. The time can easily be read through the two halo hands. As the halo reaches the end of its track, a new halo appears on the opposite side. At the 6 o'clock position you see the balance wheel oscillating back and forth inside the tourbillon cage, which acts as our seconds indicator as it makes one full rotation every 60 seconds.

You may be asking, what is a tourbillon? One of the most challenging things watchmakers faced when regulating a mechanical movement was the effects that gravity plays on the caliber or movement. Originally developed by famed watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1801. Breguet’s solution was to create an escapement that was constantly in a state of motion.

Tourbillons are arguably one the most difficult movements to make by hand. The escapement (hairspring, balance wheel, and pallet fork) is housed in a rotating cage that, because of the constant motion, averages out the effect of gravity when the watch is in different positions. They require a special set of tools and a lot of time to make. The tourbillon mechanism is tiny, weighing in at under a gram, and is usually crafted with more than 40 parts, finished by hand and made from lightweight metals like aluminum and titanium.

The straps are made using premium, full-grain leather from Horween, one of the oldest continuously running tanneries in the United States. The clasp design is the same used on high-end luxury watches. Unlike basic deployant clasps, the Halograph Tourbillon clasp allows the end of the long strap to slide between your wrist and the underside of the short strap so no extra leather keepers are required. The strap also has a built-in, quick release springbar system allowing you to swap out different straps for any occasion.

Each colorway is limited to only 99 pieces. Each watch is individually numbered.

The watch is beautiful, just beautiful, the weight, the feel, it feels sturdy.. Its all quite nice. The only downside for me is the superluminova, I can barely notice it in pitch darkness even after spending a day out in the bright sun with it on, at first I thought they had forgot to apply it. Otherwise a fantastic watch that made me a fan of Xeric

Halograph Tourbillon Collector's Edition Rose Gold Azul

The watch appears to be well made. I was disappointed that there is no serial number on the movement or case back or card that came with the watch to identify when this watch was made out of the 1,000 of this particular watch and where it was: ie 789 out of 1,000. I also do not like the way the leather strap is adjusted to the wrist as it has holes that are punched out to the strap and a loop to slide towards the buckle. If the wearer has a small wrist the loop can not be moved into place as it should be to hold the strap and buckle in place. This is not a good feature and I can imagine a problem in regards to how this works for people with a small wrist. There is no booklet included with the watch and has to be obtained online and printed out for the owner to learn some of the features etc. and how to wind the watch etc. and to be careful not to overwind the watch. If the movement had been an automatic self-winding movement the owner would not have to be concerned about overwinding the watch. I do not think the design of the strap is up to par with the watch and more attention should have been taken to make sure it could be easier to adjust to all size wrists. I really like the watch and would recommend it to others looking for a Halograph Tourbillion as long as they realize the shortcomings I have mentioned.
